Interesting How Fast Things Can Change Once The Foundation Is Set

While traveling last week, I was curious how much the spring would change in Boston. After all it would just be one week of change for trees and plants beginning to flower and bloom, bringing vibrant colors to our sensory starved eyes.

And then I remembered something construction experts told me. On a construction site, nothing seems to be happening throughout the extensive timeframe when site development and then utility work begins, up to pouring the slabs. And then almost like a miracle, rapid change shows almost daily.

Until you know how much work was going on throughout this time period, people underestimate activity during the foundation stages, and overestimate activity once framing, roofing etc begin.

This is somewhat like the appearance of no results while crucial strategies and planning are created, molded and finalized. And then visible results show in tactical execution. It is easy for people underestimate activity during the strategic and planning stages, and overestimate activity once execution and operations begin.

Those curious about how much our local plants and trees changed in a week will enjoy this window box of gorgeous colors.
