One of the benefits of taking a real vacation, even if just for a week, is to clear your head and be free to think.

As I walk around, I see preferred paths for bicycles, bicyclists riding on sidewalks and then honking at pedestrians, excellent bus and tram service.  All combined make cars 3rd class citizens.

At what point do we see these changes in the US? How much of that change will come from higher energy taxes – either in the form of higher gas taxes (ala Ross Perot’s suggestion) or the carbon tax, which is really what the cap and trade movement is.
